As the sun-kissed slopes of Colorado beckon winter enthusiasts, there’s more than just pristine powder to be found—the ski towns themselves transform into grand stages, where the melodies are as captivating as the mountains.

Colorado’s ski resorts offer a medley of on-mountain music destinations where you won’t even need to clip out of your skis to start tapping along to the tune. Head further into the towns, and you will find an eclectic mix of après-ski venues and live music spots that keep the good vibes alive long after the last run.

What’s in the Queue

The Legend lives up to its name with live music at the base to conclude your ski day on a high note. Arapahoe Basin hosts the Shakin’ at the Basin Concert, a free and family-friendly live music event in Goat Plaza every Saturday afternoon starting on April 27. It’s a celebration of lengthening days, sunnier skies, and the best of spring skiing.

Weekend nights in Steamboat are a rollercoaster ride of night skiing and live music at the town’s lively venues: Thunderhead Lodge hosts happy hour featuring local bands in the spring and The Strings Music Pavilion hosts everything from classical performances to Colorado bluegrass bands like Leftover Salmon (Jan. 26). Kicking off March, the WinterWonderGrass Festival (March 1–3) hits the ski haven with bluegrass melodies and craft beer to create an unforgettable Colorado experience. And don’t miss the Bud Light Rocks the Boat Free Concert Series in the base village, offering an eclectic mix of music genres every Saturday night in March and April.

Aspen is all about the big names. Get ready for the X Games concert extravaganza in January and the Bud Light HiFi concert series in March, featuring headline sensations set to steal the show. It’s not just about national acts, though; Aspen also boasts strong lineups of local artists. The Limelight Lounge offers après-ski relaxation with some of the town’s favorite local bands taking the stage from Wednesday to Sunday, 4–6 p.m.

Telluride keeps the musical magic going, with daily live music on the mountain at Gorrono Ranch, Tomboy Tavern, and Mountain Village Plaza. But that’s just the beginning. Once you unclip from your skis, the town’s live music scene is ready to sweep you off your feet. For an upscale dining experience with live classical music, visit Altezza at the Peaks. Afterward, make your way to The Alibi, a bar serving libations and live music. Additionally, the town boasts world-class music venues like Club Red and the Sheridan Opera House, where big-names and local artists grace the stage throughout the season.
