Editorial Intern

Alpine Publishing Group is seeking editorial interns to assist with the production of Denver Life Magazine and Home & Garden Colorado on a quarterly basis. Responsibilities include proofreading, fact-checking, writing, and assisting the editorial team with various digital and print projects. With a specific focus on web content, this is an ideal opportunity for a journalism student or recent journalism graduate seeking to gain experience in the magazine publishing field. Editorial interns work closely with our editorial team and interface with clients and local community professionals, therefore ideal candidates are deadline-oriented, possess polished communication skills, a positive attitude, and an eye for detail. The position will require at least 12-15 hours per week (with flexible work hours) for a minimum of three months. This internship is for credit hours only; it is an unpaid position.

Design Intern

Alpine Publishing Group is seeking design interns to assist the in-house creative department. The position is hands-on and will give candidates a chance to work closely with designers, editors, and the magazine’s creative director to design various pages for the print edition, as well as other collateral material for the magazine. Candidates will be responsible for creating page layouts with the assistance of the editorial and creative departments; designing media kits and other assets; and designing advertisements for outside clients. Requirements: a degree in graphic design, fine art, or a similar field (or working towards one); a strong portfolio demonstrating an eye for design and detail; working proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign; solid communication skills and ability to follow specific instructions. The position will require at least 12-15 hours per week (with flexible work hours) for a minimum of three months. This internship is for credit hours only; it is an unpaid position.

Account Executive

Alpine Publishing Group is expanding its sales team and is looking for experienced sales professionals to work with advertising clients. The position is 100% commission-based, with unlimited potential for annual earnings. We offer a simple compensation plan based solely on sales earned. Applicants should have experience building and maintaining ad revenue for a print publication. Responsibilities include: servicing existing accounts by maintaining constant contact with clients; preparing sales presentations, budget recommendations, and creative ideas for prospects and current clients; aggressively pursuing new business by following up on leads; regularly reviewing competitive media and identifying prospects; and representing the company at events to promote the business. Two years of sales experience (ad sales preferred) is a requirement.
