The Denver Botanic Gardens host their annual exploration of their grounds from April 20-22, 2022. Celebrate Earth Day while exploring the garden, enjoying the beauty of nature and planting seeds in an eco-friendly container. Seedlings: Earth Day classes offer a fun, hands-on way for young children to explore the plant world while developing an understanding and appreciation for plants and their importance. Programs include stories, nature walks and art projects. Classes cost $10 to register.

Bee Earth Day

Join Growing Gardens for Bee Earth Day on Saturday, April 22, 2022, at Hawthorn Farm to learn how to plan your garden and appreciate the planet—flowers are blooming, bees are buzzing and vegetables are growing! You will learn about sustainability on the farm, water conservation, composting and the importance of diversity in your garden.

Earth Day Picnic Party

Celebrate with an Earth Day Picnic Party with Bruz Beers on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. They’ll have flavorful, picnic-perfect dishes and ideas for simple eco-friendly habits. Explore sustainable Denver businesses and learn eco-friendly picnicking tips and tricks to create a beautiful picnic complementary to the beautiful nature. They’ll also be hosting a canned food drive to collect nonperishable items for local Denver food pantries. Book your tickets today.

Earth Day Themed Yoga Flow

Join Black Swan Yoga for an Earth Day-themed flow with instructor Caoilfhionn on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 6 p.m. at the Black Swan Yoga South Broadway studio. Tickets are free with a suggested donation of $10-$20.

Acts of Service

LoDo Cares 2022 Earth Day Cleanup and Celebration

Celebrate Earth Day by getting outside and volunteering with LoDo Cares on April 23, 2022, 9 a.m. to noon. Meet other LoDo community members at this Cleanup and Celebration while also beautifying the waterway, community playground and public gardens. They will provide a light breakfast, refreshments, all necessary equipment for you and your party and best of all—music to groove to. All you have to do is show up! All ages are welcome.

Earth Day Service Hike hosted by University Colorado Denver

Join University Colorado Denver Wellness & Recreation on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. as they give back to Mother Nature during this free Adventure Trip. During the hike, expect to clean and service local trails while enjoying breathtaking views. No experience is required but participants must be able to carry a 10 lb. pack while hiking up to five miles over snowy terrain. All participants must attend the mandatory pre-trip meeting where they will discuss important details regarding the trip.

Free Entrance to National Parks

One of the very best ways to celebrate Earth Day is to embrace nature through a visit to one of Colorado’s National Parks and Monuments on Friday, April 22, 2022. Every Earth Day, the entrance fee for national parks is waived. Enjoy nature for free this Earth Day by visiting Rocky Mountain National Park.

Meadow & Forest Loop Trails at Lookout Mountain Nature Center

Mountain Park has two loops with easy trails that wind through the ponderosa pines in the foothills above Golden. Combine the loops for a longer hike. The Nature Center at Lookout Mountain Park is a great place to learn about the environment and wildlife near Denver. If you want to make a day of it, bring a picnic lunch, then take a self-guided tour of the nearby historic Boettcher Mansion. Each loop is under a mile just 30 minutes from Denver.
