With sophistication, power, and poise that rival its German and Japanese competitors, the 2026 Genesis GV80 SUV is a stunning example of the continuing growth of the luxury South Korean brand.
This year, as other carmakers have done, the GV80 and a few other Genesis models have received a classy, low-key blackout makeover as an option. The Prestige Black trim highlights a black-metallic paint job created in honor of Iceland’s sparkling black-sand beaches, and it goes all in on the darkened look.
Glossy black trim covers nearly every surface of the GV80, from the headlamp bezels and window frames to a crosshatched grille. A set of glossy, blade-shaped 22-inch alloy wheels with floating center caps, plus black brake caliper covers, complete the look.
Inside, the GV80 gets quilted, perforated black Nappa leather seating and black trim on nearly all of the controls. A broad expanse of real black ash wood spans the center console and dash, just below the vehicle’s 27-inch OLED instrument and navigation touchscreen.
The tradeoff isn’t bad for second-row passengers, who still get reclining seats and full rear air and heat controls. The Prestige Black trim does without the third row, which remains available on four other GV80 editions, and cargo room grows as a result.
All that all-wheel-drive capability comes from a 375-horsepower, 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, still capable of 22 highway mpg. The GV80 Coupe, another recipient of the Prestige Black package, adds a 48-volt electric supercharger to boost output to 409 horsepower on its sloped roofline.
