Denver-based Holistic Esthetician Larissa Mundwiler is known for sculpting, toning and lifting the skin so you can look and feel your best. As the name suggests, her business Rooted in Wellness adheres to a very wholesome approach where all services are “rooted” in her clients’ desire for wellness.

Mundwiler specializes in Gua Sha, facial cupping, facial massage, facial sculpting and deep relaxation, and only uses the best products for your skin and the planet. “My facials are unique in the sense that when you leave, not only does your skin feel rejuvenated but your whole being feels reset,” she explains. “Rooted in Wellness is a space to learn how to heal the skin by using facial massage modalities that turn your beauty regime into a beauty ritual to nourish the skin.”

Inside & Out

When it comes to self-care, what you put in your body plays an important role. In fact, Mundwiler says the more you incorporate healthy, vitamin-rich foods in your diet, the more you will start glowing from the inside out. “Your nutrition plays a huge factor in inflammation, anti-aging, acne and eczema etc. These concerns are what I tend to see more of on a daily basis,” adds Mundwiler.

“For this reason, you’ll often see omega 3’s, vitamin E, vitamin C, antioxidants and collagen featured in skin care. Most of the time with natural, holistic skin care those are coming from vitamin dense foods. Some beauty-boosting foods are pomegranates (rich in antioxidants), fatty fish, avocados, almonds/walnuts, bell peppers, green tea, and surprisingly, organic dark chocolate!”

Body & Soul

Everything is connected, so it makes sense that what you feed your body affects your largest organ—your skin. “When I’m looking at a client’s skin to assess any concerns, I always start with their nutrition. For example, ‘What do you eat?’ ‘How much water are you drinking?’ ‘What vitamins and supplements do you take?’ ‘What products are being consumed?’ It’s important to tackle the inside and then work on the outside.”

Ultimately, proper nourishment is critical to looking and feeling your best. In other words, if you take care of your mind, body and soul; you will be able to obtain and maintain a beautiful and fulfilling life.
