Codespire
Location: CU Denver Engineering College
Ages: Grades 3–8
Offerings: Half- or full-day, July 22–26 and July 24–28
The lowdown: First session: kids learn how to computer code so they can create their own apps and games. Second session: kids learn the program needed to control robots and circuits, motors, lights, sound, and sensors.

Colorado Academy Summer Programs
Location: Colorado Academy
Ages: Pre-K through Grade 8.
Offerings: Half-day, full-day, and overnight, June 10–Aug. 8
The lowdown: Emphasis is on self-confidence and fun in arts, sports, puzzles, and camping.

Cooking Camp
Location: Uncorked Kitchen
Ages: 7–10 or 11 and up.
Offerings: Half- and full-day, June 3–7, 10–14, 17–21, and 24–28; July 15–19, 22–26; July 29–Aug. 2
The lowdown: After learning about healthy eating, where food comes from, and how to prepare food, campers will bring their creations home.

Dino Ridge Junior
Scientist Camp
Location: Dinosaur Ridge
Ages: 8–11
Offerings: Full-day, June 17–21 or July 22–26.
The lowdown: Campers create their own crystals, build volcanos, dig “fossils,” and see local animals. Includes field trips.

House of Rock
Location: Swallow Hill Music
Ages: 13–18
Offerings: June 3–7, 10–14, and 17–21, July 15–19, July 22–Aug 2
The lowdown: Students learn how to start a band, play and read music, write songs, find and create a part, and perform. Also at Swallow Hill: music appreciation camps for 6- to 9-year-olds and a musical theater camp for 10- to 13-year-olds.

Nike Tennis Camp
Location: University of Denver Stapleton Tennis Pavilion
Ages: All ages
Offerings: Full-day, June 3–7, 10–14, and 24–28, July 8–12 (high schoolers), July 22–26.
The lowdown: Campers of all abilities learn from top DU coaches and compete in matches.

Noteable Kids Art, Musical Theatre Camps
Locations: DTC and Parker
Ages: Art, 5–10; music: 9–15
Offerings: Art camp: half-day, July 29–Aug. 2; music camp: full-day, June 24–28
The lowdown: Art camp kids will sculpt, paint, and craft in many styles. Music campers sing and Bop To The Top, joining their favorite Wildcats to create a killer “High School Musical.”

PGA Junior Golf Club Camp
Location: Park Hill Golf Course
Ages: 6–13 half-day, 9–17 full-day
Offerings: Weeklong camps June through August
The lowdown: Kids of all skill levels learn golf from PGA-approved coaches, teaching in small classes.

Robert and Judi Newman Summer Series
Location: Denver Center for the Performing Arts
Ages: Pre-K, grades K–5, middle/ high school (based on grade for fall 2019)
Offerings: One-day, one-week, two-week, and multi-week camps, June 3–Aug. 2
The lowdown: Campers learn movement/dance, voice, design, and acting. Weeklong classes culminate in a showcase.

Summer Swim Camp
Location: Waterworks Aquatics, Highlands Ranch
Ages: 5–14; must be able to swim two 25-yard lengths
Offerings: Weeklong half-day sessions, June 3–Aug. 2
The lowdown: Your kid will learn competitive stroke technique, speed, breathing drills, speed drills, dives, and flip turns. Swim games held at the end of each session.
