Centrally located in LoDo, you can feel the electricity at the corner of 16th and Wazee. No wonder locals rush to grab a seat on this stylish patio now that the warm weather is here. Perfect for power lunches or business dinners, but by no means overly corporate, The Kitchen American Bistro is a great place for a girls’ night out, beer with friends, apps before an event, or weekend brunch. When it comes to food, the menu is popping with a wide assortment of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. The culinary team is led by Chef Michael Bertozzi, Senior Director of Culinary & Beverage for The Kitchen Restaurant Group. His main focus is sourcing ingredients as fresh and local as possible. “I love the versatility of the menu. You can come in for light bites and drinks, a date or a long celebratory meal with friends or family,” Bertozzi explains. “You can try multiple flavors or stick to one vibe throughout. It really is a choose-your-adventure mentality or allow our staff to guide you through a curated experience that allows you to relax and enjoy.”
And he’s right. As you dig in, the hecticness of life starts to fade away. Serving top-tier American cuisine with a local twist, my favorites were the Crispy Cauliflower, Black Spaghetti, Tagliatelle, Carrots and Cheesecake.

On top of the welcoming patio and modern interiors, there’s a private dining area you can reserve for plated menu business dinners, wedding celebrations, cocktail receptions or family-style brunches. “I love the limitless experiences you can have by simply choosing a different path each time you dine. The menu draws from multiple global influences so I can taste different flavors based on what is striking my mood. It’s a menu that I don’t get tired of eating.”
Watch out for The Kitchen’s Summer Programming such as its Summer Rosé Program: an irresistible selection of rosés available by the glass or bottle, plus a rosé-based cocktail called the “Pink Spritz” offered all day (lunch, dinner and weekend brunch). Plus, Gulf Shrimp Boil, a dinner menu feature with shareable peel and eat shrimp served with andouille, sweet corn and potatoes. Both are available now through Labor Day.
