Arapahoe Basin’s Bacon Bloody Mary Recipe

Take your at-home Sunday brunch game to new heights with Arapahoe Basin’s top-secret recipe for its iconic Bacon Bloody Mary.

Arapahoe Basin is the ski resort having the most fun. From The Beach, where skiers can tailgate their turns, to Denim Day and the wackiest of spring skiing, it’s no surprise that The Legend has the best bar on the slopes serving up a bacon-infused Bloody Mary you won’t want to pass on. And we have Chris Rybak, Arapahoe Basin’s director of food and beverage, to thank for it. “I had the idea to infuse the vodka with bacon,” Rybak says. “And I was infusing it myself the first season. But within a year, I couldn’t keep up with the demand. We serve about 40,000 of the Bacon Bloody Maries a season, so Mile High Spirits in Denver started infusing a specialty vodka just for me.” Whether it’s your much-needed warm-up for the day or the celebration to cap your laps, tucking into one of these spicy and succulent sippers at the base bar 6th Alley Bar & Grill or mid-mountain at Black Mountain Lodge is a rite of passage. But as the sun sets on another epic day, don’t leave the magic in the mountains. Take the tradition home with you as Arapahoe Basin shares its secret recipe. Your Sunday brunch game just became legendary.

“It’s like a pork chop in a glass! The tomato base carries a savory, smoky bacon essence, and you’ll definitely feel a pleasant kick of heat.”—Chris Rybak, director of food and beverage, Arapahoe Basin
