Mercedes AMG GT 63 Coupe Blends Racecar Performance With Grand Touring Comfort

The sweet spot in a growing array of powerful, agile sports coupes, the 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 63’s additional passenger and cargo space adds flexibility to a road-dominating machine.

For a visceral and legitimately racecar-styled driving experience that’s the absolute antithesis of outings in an oversized SUV, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Coupe delivers thrills and long-distance cruising comfort. All that in a package that’s an absolute head-turner, especially when outfitted with a shimmering, metallic-infused matte paint job, one of a vast range of Manufaktur custom colors available.

Sleek and ruthlessly powerful, the new GT has evolved from the rigid, race-bred, two-seater guise that debuted a little over a decade ago. It now features a more touring-friendly 2+2 seating layout with almost 24 cubic feet of luggage room under the low curve of the glassy liftgate when you flatten those diminutive rear seats—the extra space thanks to a shared platform with the new Mercedes-Benz SL convertible. A sumptuous leather interior, large horizontal touchscreen displays, and an available Burmester 3D Surround Sound system also enhance its extended-range driving appeal.

Despite the added space, the GT Coupe is still compact enough to turn a springtime drive into a carnival of corner-carving wonder. The 63’s 577-horsepower, twin-turbo engine is just the right potency among the Coupe’s four gasoline engine choices, with a vast array of sport driving modes that can produce symphonic roars or crackling pops of exhaust, and optional ceramic composite brakes available to reel in the excess. High-performance 4Matic all-wheel drive also contributes additional Spider-Man-style grip to further help keep it in check.

If that’s not quite enough rolling fury, the hybrid-infused GT 63 S E Performance Coupe variant adds a 150-kilowatt electric motor to produce some 805 horsepower; a full-electric model is also on the horizon, with a prototype recently setting a world EV track record by averaging 186 mph over a 24-hour period.
