Sitting somewhere between Baja-ready bruisers like the Ford Raptor R and Ram 1500 TRX and the polished capability of the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Land Rover raises the stakes with the 2026 Defender 110 OCTA.
It’s one of the most intensely factory-built Land Rover products yet. Menacingly darkened looks and monstrous off-road tires are backed by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8, a BMW-sourced mild-hybrid engine producing 626 horsepower. An active exhaust makes sure nobody misses the point.
A considerably wider track and sophisticated suspension system, including air springs and hydraulic dampers, give the OCTA up to 12.7 inches of ground clearance. The setup adds stability and agility, particularly when the trail gets fast.
That wider stance and the Defender 110’s 119-inch wheelbase also make the OCTA a more comfortable, refined machine than the blocky G-Wagen, its closest luxury competitor. The shorter Defender 90 and three-row 130 remain available, albeit without the OCTA’s superhero-level output.
Brembo brakes, 33-inch all-terrain tires wrapped around 20-inch gloss-black wheels, and an arsenal of performance modes make the OCTA equally game for trail, gravel, or even a racetrack, if you want to mix your metaphors.
A matte paint wrap and blacked-out trim complete the exterior transformation. Inside, things get decidedly more civilized with a sliding panoramic glass roof, leather, chopped forged carbon-fiber trim, and a suede headliner. Then there are the Body and Soul Seats, which use embedded speakers to let you physically feel the audio. Consider it either a concert on wheels or therapy after whatever you just put the OCTA through.
