Local band Lady Denim is one to know. Think Rex Orange County meets Peach Pit meets Colorado for an 80’s pop, Indie Rock, upbeat sound. The band formed when Nick Lundeen, lead vocal and rhythm guitar and Nic Lubin, lead guitar, signed a lease together in college at CSU. They graduated this Spring and have also added Chris Lubin, Nic’s brother, on bass guitar and Miles Jenkins on drums. “In the beginning, we spent a lot of time coordinating our outfits instead of rehearsing. Most of our wardrobes are scooped up off the 50% off rack,” says Lubin with a laugh. “We were more naïve back then and thought every open mic would be our big break. But now, we play to packed houses at Globe Hall, playing the Marquis was really cool but dare I say playing Meow Wolf was my favorite.” Their enthusiastic fan base formed early on in college and continues to grow as the band emerges out of Fort Collins and even past Colorado. Lady Denim will play at the Underground Music Showcase July 29-31 and is currently planning a tour of the country.
