Vintage Magnolia Turns Floral Design Into Everyday Art

Vintage Magnolia has built a following in the Vail Valley by making flowers feel personal, not perfect.

At Vintage Magnolia, a single arrangement can change the feeling of a room. The boutique and full-service floral studio has built a loyal following for its layered floral work, curated home goods, and warm, approachable sense of style. For co-owners Tori Preiss and Olivia Battino, bringing those worlds together was instinctive. “Fresh flowers really are the best home accessory,” Tori says. “They instantly make a space feel finished and lived in.”

Throughout the shop, vintage-inspired décor, collected home pieces, and seasonal textures mingle with loose, garden-style florals, creating a look that feels organic, intentional, and never overly designed. That balance reflects the partnership behind the brand. Tori’s background in interior design shapes the atmosphere and visual storytelling of the space, while Olivia brings an intuitive approach to floral composition. Together, they’ve created a style that feels elevated yet approachable.

“We both gravitate toward pieces and designs that don’t feel overly expected,” Olivia explains. Whether sourcing inventory or designing wedding florals, every detail is chosen with intention, so it feels personal instead of formulaic.

That same spirit comes to life in their floral workshops, one of the studio’s most meaningful offerings. Designed for everyone from first-timers to longtime creatives, the classes are less about perfection than the pleasure of making something by hand. Guests gather around buckets of fresh blooms, building their designs stem by stem as conversation unfolds across the table. “By the end, people are talking, laughing, and complimenting each other’s creations,” Olivia says. “It’s one of our favorite parts of what we do.”

Their approach to flowers at home is equally uncomplicated: start with blooms you love and let the design take shape naturally. The most beautiful pieces are rarely perfect. They’re layered, a little undone, and full of personality. “It’s more about how everything comes together than making it look perfect,” Tori explains. “And a good vase always helps.”

The surrounding mountain landscape leaves its mark on nearly every design. Palettes echo the region’s natural beauty: muted greens, warm neutrals, soft whites, and layered textures inspired by alpine mornings and wildflower summers. By working with local vendors and nearby flower farms whenever possible, the team keeps the studio closely tied to the community around it. The result is a place that feels grounded, welcoming, and distinctly of the mountains, less like a traditional store than a space people want to step into again and again.
