Chris Nehls is inviting Longmont to be part of Denver’s innovative and inclusive culinary scene. Food halls are fantastic incubators for new chef concepts and amalgamate many offerings under one roof, making them the ultimate crowd-pleasers. Denver and Boulder both boast a few, but the Parkway Food Hall will be Longmont’s first, thanks to Nehls, the vice president of Actis LLC, the mastermind company behind the project. The 16,000-square-foot all-day food hall opens at the end of May, and features eight dining concepts, three retail spaces, an indoor/outdoor bar, indoor/outdoor seating, an expansive patio, and event space for up to 40 guests. Among the food offerings will be Chile con Quesadilla, the brick and mortar of the wildly popular food truck; Baa Hachi, a Japanese street food concept from Farow in Niwat, as well as another Pie Dog Pizza from Farow; and Cleaver & Co., a fried chicken sandwich concept. With an eye for small-town foodie venues, we tapped Nehls for his recommendations on where to eat, drink, and enjoy the day around our great state.
