People want to do better by the planet. But when sustainable shopping requires hours of research and deciphering endless labels, good intentions can fall by the wayside. Sistain, a Denver-based online marketplace, aims to remove those roadblocks by making conscious consumerism effortless. Founder Jaclyn Tracy does the hard work—vetting brands, assessing materials, and ensuring every product is nontoxic, ethically made, and built to last—so Sistain can offer a high-end selection of home and kitchen essentials that aligns with both your style and your values.

Tracy’s commitment to sustainability was shaped by her brother’s off-grid lifestyle and her own three-month solo backpacking trip through South America. The idea for Sistain struck while she was building her wedding registry, struggling to find durable, well-made home goods that were also responsibly sourced. Frustrated by the lack of transparency, she created Sistain to bridge that gap.

From scratch-resistant, lead-free Fable glassware that’s twice as strong as untreated crystalware to Sunday Citizen’s bamboo bedding made from compostable fibers and packed in recyclable and reusable materials to luxurious loomed organic cotton towels by Coyuchi, every Sistain-approved item is rigorously assessed for its environmental impact. There’s also an emphasis on local sourcing. Sistain’s signature Amberwoods soy wax candle, hand-poured in small batches at Denver’s Meno Studio, boasts a 100-hour burn time with clean, toxin-free ingredients.

Tracy has extended her mission beyond retail, offering an in-depth blog with insights on sustainable brands like Parachute, Avocado, Maiden Home, and West Elm. She’s also partnered with EWG-certified brands, B-Corp businesses, and 1% for the Planet to ensure every purchase supports companies making a real difference.

Making small, mindful choices has never been more critical. Sistain proves that sustainability doesn’t have to be overwhelming—it can be as simple as choosing products that are better for your home and the world around you.
