Designer Interview

How would you describe your design style and point of view?

My approach to design is rooted in creating spaces that feel collected, layered, and deeply connected to the people who inhabit them. I’m drawn to interiors that balance a strong sense of place with influences gathered from travel, art, and experience. I love the contrast between old and new, refined and unexpected, and ultimately want a room to feel beautiful without ever feeling overly designed.

What drew you to this space, and what excited you most about designing it?

I was immediately drawn to the opportunity to design the primary suite because it’s such a personal part of a home. I imagined the future homeowner as someone who is well traveled, collects meaningful pieces along the way, and has experienced some of the world’s most beautiful hotels. The challenge was to bring that sense of discovery and understated luxury into a traditional Wash Park home while still making the bedroom and bathroom feel incredibly calm, comfortable, and residential.

Describe the vision for your room in three words—and why those words matter.

Collected. Serene. Transportive.

Collected because I wanted the space to feel as though it evolved over time, with pieces and influences gathered through travel rather than sourced all at once.

Serene because a primary suite should provide a sense of retreat. The palette, materials, and forms are intentionally quiet and calming.

Transportive because great interiors have the ability to take you somewhere. I wanted there to be moments that evoke the feeling of discovering a beautiful hotel or unexpected place while traveling, without the room feeling themed or tied to any one destination.
