Designer Interview

How would you describe your design style and point of view?

The design vision for this space is rooted in classic Colonial style, and thoughtfully reimagined for modern day living. Timeless architectural details are paired with clean lines and contemporary touches to create a space that feels refined yet approachable. Every element is intended to be classic in design, sensible in style, and highly functional, creating a home that honors tradition while effortlessly supporting everyday life.

What drew you to this space, and what excited you most about designing it?

I was drawn to the great room as it is truly the heart of the home. It is a central gathering place designed for entertaining, lounging, relaxing, and, most importantly, creating lasting memories with friends and family. I wanted the space to feel welcoming and comfortable while still carrying a sense of timeless elegance.

Describe the vision for your room in three words—and why those words matter.

The three words that best describe the vision for this room are sophisticated, layered, and comfortable. The space is elevated through thoughtful layers of design. From the coffered ceiling and wallpaper, to the detailed woodwork, layered lighting, and refined furnishings. Every element adds depth and character while maintaining a sense of warmth and livability. The result is a great room that feels polished and sophisticated, yet remains an inviting place to lounge, relax, entertain, and enjoy everyday living.
