Designer Interview

How would you describe your design style and point of view?

I approach every design by first understanding how it needs to function for the people who will use it. My goal is to maximize every opportunity for storage while creating a thoughtful highly organized space that feels effortless to live in. From there, I focus equally on the aesthetic, ensuring the design reflects the client’s needs and personal style while complementing the architecture and surrounding spaces of the home. I believe the most successful designs are those where beauty and functionality work together-where every element has a purpose, storage is maximized, and the finished space feels elevated and completely at home within its surroundings.

What drew you to this space, and what excited you most about designing it?

What drew me to the space was its location between the primary bath and keeping room. Its placement creates a natural connection and an easy sense of flow between these two areas of the home, which makes the closet feel like any important part of the overall design, above and beyond simply a storage space.

What excited me most was the opportunity to create distinctive features within the closet that were both beautiful and purposeful. In particular, I loved incorporating a dedicated vanity area and custom bench that serves as a dual purpose-providing a place to sit while elegantly concealing the steam shower equipment. These elements allowed me to bring together function, thoughtful details, and a refined aesthetic that ended in a primary closet that transitions naturally between the surrounding spaces.

Describe the vision for your room in three words—and why those words matter.

These 3 words capture the essence of the space;
Function was essential to creating a highly organized closet that maximizes storage and work effortlessly for the home owner.
Aesthetic speaks to the furniture inspired design and the thoughtful details that make the space feel elevated and beautiful.
Cohesion was important because of the unique position between the primary bath and keeping room. I wanted the closet to feel like a natural extension of both spaces while still having its own identity.
