How did you tie in the builder’s aesthetic?
It was important to complement the home’s clean, modern lines. I did that with streamlined furniture, but introduced a touch of classic formality through curved elements like the urns and pedestals—just enough to add some visual grounding.

How did you balance beauty and function?
After years of experience, that balance becomes second nature. I often use bilateral symmetry with subtle variations to make a space feel both ordered and dynamic. The sectional and spring chairs naturally anchor the front patio, while in back, hedges create cozy dining and lounging zones without overwhelming the space.

Any go-to design tricks for styling outdoor spaces?
Staggering greenery—like the hedges—adds depth, softens hardscapes, and creates a more natural, layered environment. It’s a great way to warm up modern architecture without cluttering it.
