Our Story

Shawn Miller

Publisher and CEO

Born and raised in Huntington Beach, Calif., I moved in 1989 to Arizona, where I received a degree in global marketing with a minor in advertising at Arizona State University. I worked nine years for a regional magazine publisher in Arizona, learning about the magazine industry from top to bottom. In 2007, I and my wife/business partner, Kristin, along with our first child and three pups, relocated to Colorado to launch Denver Life Magazine. We now have three wonderful children and love this amazing state. I enjoy skiing, golfing, camping, hiking, fly-fishing, and spending time with my family.

Kristin Miller

Vice President

A Midwest girl at heart, I grew up in Michigan before packing up my car and moving to Arizona. There, I completed my B.A. degree in Communication with a business minor from Arizona State University. I earned my editing experience as Managing Editor for a regional lifestyle magazine in Scottsdale, AZ before starting my own freelance writing and editing business. In 2007 I, along with my husband and business partner Shawn relocated our family to Colorado to launch Denver Life Magazine. I served as the magazine’s Editor-in-Chief for eight years before making the decision to scale back from daily operations to focus on raising our three children. In my free time I enjoy hiking, skiing, yoga, gardening, spending quality time with my family and exploring this beautiful state we call home.

Tom Visocchi

Creative Director

I grew up in Detroit, studied at the Center for Creative Studies, and worked at an ad agency before moving to Denver 25 years ago. Since then, I have done an array of creative work (plus bartending!), working at an ad agency, designing mail-order catalogs for a subsidiary of Whole Foods, and photo editing for Starz. In publishing, I have worked at Colorado Biz magazine and Denver magazine, and freelanced for Ft. Collins, Breckenridge, and Winter Park magazines for Evergreen Publishing. For the last five years, I’ve designed Denver Life Magazine.

Lacy Morris

Executive Editor

I grew up just outside of Denver on a farm near the Kansas border, made my way to the city for college—where I studied journalism at Metro State—and worked in the downtown bar scene to pay my way through school. After graduation, I spent more than a decade building a career in publishing, with stops in Thailand, New York, DC, and Alabama, bylines in outlets like National Geographic, Vogue, and Food & Wine, and staff positions at publications like Architectural Digest and Southern Living. A few years ago, when remote work made geography more flexible, I knew it was time to come home. I’m thrilled to now be telling the stories of Denver—its people, neighborhoods, and evolving identity—through the pages of this magazine.

Sahale Greenwood

Managing Editor

I recently moved from California to Colorado, trading in my surf board for skis. I am a passionate, extroverted journalist living in the heart of LoDo and loving all Denver has to offer. My previous experience in journalism includes my position as the Associate Editor at The Outdoor Journal, receiving the Justin T. McCarthy Award for Excellence in Journalism in 2021 from Santa Clara University and publishing with 5280: Denver’s Mile High Magazine, The Six Fifty, The Journal of Therapeutic Schools and Programs, The Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, The Santa Clara Magazine, and The Outlook News.

Aspen Bentley

Digital & Social Editor

During my journalism studies at the University of Colorado, I interned at Denver Life Magazine and loved it so much that I returned to join the team after graduating. Before settling back in, I fulfilled a lifelong dream of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, an adventure fueled by my love for the outdoors. In my current role, I manage the magazine’s website, social media, and digital strategy while contributing to the editorial team, where my passion for writing continues to guide my work. Born and raised in Colorado, I’m an avid skier and hiker who feels most at home outside, and when I’m not on the mountain, you’ll find me exploring Denver’s vibrant food, arts, and music scenes.

Jamie Froyd

Business Development Manager / Events

In my role at Denver Life, I collaborate with clients and nonprofits to create meaningful partnerships that enhance branding opportunities and strengthen event marketing, including playing a key part in bringing our Designer Showhouses to life. I’m a Colorado native and proud Cherry Creek and CU Boulder alum, so you’ll usually find me out on a trail or exploring the outdoors somewhere across the state in my spare time.
