Wine and cheese are a classic duo—but throw in an iconic jam band and a Rocky Mountain backdrop, and you’ve got epic plans. This August, the Vail Wine Classic and The String Cheese Incident converge on the same weekend, transforming Vail into a playground for music lovers and oenophiles alike. The String Cheese Incident takes the stage at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater on August 8 and 9, bringing their signature blend of funk, bluegrass, and magical improv back to Vail for the first time in nearly two decades.
What could make a weekend of live music in the mountains even better? A nice wine pairing on tap. The Vail Wine Classic, August 7–10, is adding a level of sophistication to the festivities. Taking place across Vail Village and Ford Field, this four-day celebration features over 100 renowned wineries with more than 300 wines to sample, including boutique labels and international favorites. Expect artisanal cheeses, charcuterie, and chef-curated bites to match the pours. For the more adventurous, there are wine hikes with Fox31 meteorologist Kylie Bearse, outdoor tastings, and seminars to level up your wine knowledge.
Before each evening concert, sip your way through the Grand Tasting at Ford Field beginning at 3 p.m., followed by dancing under the stars at the outdoor music venue. With just a five-minute stroll between venues, the weekend is a seamless blend of corks and chords, perfect for those who believe wine and cheese should always come with a soundtrack.
