For Megan Hudacky Larabee, no dinner party is complete without one of her handcrafted cutting boards on the table, though she admits it’s often more about style than necessity. “It’s become a bit of a joke with my friends,” Megan laughs. “I always find a way to use one.” Megan is the owner and founder of interior design firm CKY Design and one-half of the creative force behind Laradacky cutting boards; the other half is her “better half,” aka her husband David. Their boards are more than functional kitchen tools; they’re the centerpiece of every gathering. From displaying appetizers to serving Megan’s perfected fried chicken, these creations blend design and practicality in a way that feels effortlessly elegant.

Back in 2017, David, the furniture maker behind Double Butter, surprised Megan with handmade cutting boards as presents. With her sharp eye for aesthetics, she saw the potential in these beautifully crafted pieces and set out to turn them into something more. The name, Laradacky, reflects the merging of their surnames (Megan’s maiden name is Hudacky) and design talents. “I’ve always wanted to create products,” Megan says. “Laradacky started with the cutting boards David made, and it grew into a collection of home goods I felt was missing from the market.”

The Larabees now craft durable walnut and maple cutting boards, elegant trays, and spacious wine totes that elevate any kitchen space. “We aim for designs that balance subtle details with a timeless look and dependable function,” Megan notes, adding that the boards are beautiful enough to be displayed on the kitchen counter. Some details she highlights are the beveled edges of the boards and the unique shapes they come in, like the tomahawk- resembling Oddball cutting board.
