Kind Design’s Custom Topographic Fashion

Kind Design navigates the river of love with custom topographic clothing and wedding attire.

Whether it was a float trip that changed your perspective on water conservation in the West, a fishing trip with your dad where he told you he was proud of you, or the place your husband proposed, there is probably a section of flow that speaks directly to your heart. And Kind Design is here to memorialize that for you. Kind Design, a Boulder-based design company, crafts clothes from recycled plastic bottles and imbues them with topographic prints of specific river sections. “I met my wife on the ski slopes as a patroller. In the summers I would work as a river raft guide,” says founder and creative director Damon Baz Redd. “The snow and the water: this was where my inspiration was born.” Customers can choose from over 250 sections of rivers or customize their own location on the brand’s sun shirts, leggings, tech tees, and dresses. Kind Design also makes tying the knot even more meaningful with custom wedding ties, bow ties, and pocket squares that add a personal touch to the groom’s getup. By incorporating the distinctive topo design (available in 500 colors to ensure a perfect match to the day’s color palette), couples can infuse elements of nostalgia and personal significance into the groom’s outfit. The topo design can serve as a modern interpretation of “something old” or “something borrowed,” adding layers of sentiment and charm to the wedding attire.

“It’s really important for us to think about being kind in our design process,” Redd says. “We use recycled materials, and for every garment sold, we donate $2 to Western Resource Advocates for the conservation of water, land, and air across the West.” Kind Design also offers custom graphic design, screen printing, and embroidery services. And its roster of past clients speaks for itself: POW, Spikeball, Teva, Vail Resorts, Children’s Hospital Colorado, The Nature Conservancy, The Atlantic, La Sportiva, 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirits, Weston Snowboards, Longtucky, the towns of Beaver Creek, Aspen, and Vail, and many more.
