At Idyll Manor, antiques have found a new voice. Shop owner Hannah Duffy curates pieces that carry history and patina but feel anything but dated. “I grew up with an appreciation for craftsmanship and character—the kind of pieces that tell a story and carry the marks of time in the most beautiful way,” she says.
Hannah spent years as a teacher before opening the shop in 2023. “Teaching taught me patience, adaptability, and the art of creating an environment that inspires,” she explains. Still, her true calling was design. “From the beginning, I knew I wanted to work with antiques in a way that felt relevant and fresh—not just ‘prairie’ or ‘grandma’s house,’ but a modern, elevated take that blends history with a current sensibility.”
That vision guides her sourcing trips, often to England and Ireland, where she’s built trusted relationships with dealers. “My criteria are rooted in craftsmanship, proportion, patina, and personality, whether it’s a grand piece of furniture or a small object, it has to carry a certain quiet elegance that will stand the test of time,” Hannah says. Every shipment goes through careful packing, customs, and inspection, with only light restoration if needed. “I’m careful not to erase the character or history that makes each piece special.”

What makes Idyll Manor distinct is how seamlessly antiques are woven into the present. “I’m not just looking for pretty things; I’m looking for pieces that will become part of someone’s personal story,” Hannah says. “I want them to pair beautifully with contemporary elements so they feel fresh, not fussy.”
For her, home is defined by the rituals that make life meaningful. “It’s a Sunday morning with coffee in your favorite mug, the creak of an old floorboard, a dining table that’s witnessed years of laughter and conversation. I hope the pieces I source become part of those everyday rituals for my customers.”
The response has been enthusiastic. “People often tell me they’ve never seen anything like it here,” Hannah says. As she looks ahead, she plans to expand into lifestyle goods and grow Idyll Manor’s online reach—but the heart of the shop will remain constant: antiques reimagined as modern heirlooms, layered with history, character, and soul.
