At Cherry Creek North’s Mariel Boutique, owner Denise Snyder believes that dressing up during this festive time is not just a luxury but a celebration of community and creativity. “When clients come to the store and say, ‘I wish I could dress up and wear these fashions,’ I tell them about the charities I am involved in and invite them to come,” Snyder shares. “I explained to them that Colorado has so many nonprofits, and Boulder has one of the highest rates per capita, so there is no excuse.”
Snyder has always loved fashion and earned her degree in fashion merchandising. “I worked at a boutique in Larimer Square 41 years ago called The Better Sweater. I ended up buying the store and changed the name to Better Sweaters Etc. I then renamed it to Mariel after my daughter was born.” Here, she carries hundreds of designers from all around the world and specifically looks for unique fabrics and designer-inspired fashions at great prices. The store carries everything from chic jeans and full-length gowns to exclusive designer-made leathers and opulent hats.
She says this holiday season will see lots of sequins, tulle, lace, and chiffon. And if that sounds intimidating to you, the boutique’s styling services are here to help. “Our evening salon is hand-selected, and you get a one-on-one appointment with the stylist who helps guide you to the perfect dress for your event. We can dress mothers of the bride for weddings or create looks for galas, debutante balls, and even the red carpet. It was really exciting to dress Rita Moreno’s daughter Fernanda for the Oscars. We have clients fly in to specifically shop our evening salon.”
