Sonya Walker

Boulder-born, Denver-based multi-instrumentalist composer Sonya Walker began her relationship with the piano when she was 5.

Originally classically trained, she discovered her love of Black American improvised music by teaching herself trumpet, and eventually transitioned to exploring that tradition on the piano.

You can find her all around the Denver area and occasionally beyond, playing both by herself and in various bands, mixed up in an eclectic set of projects.
