Discover the Home Field Advantage at The Rally Hotel

The Rally Hotel hits home runs for all ages.

Shortly after 9 p.m., I gathered with my wife, Heather, and our toddler, Margot, to look out the window of our room at The Rally Hotel. A Rockies game had just ended, and fireworks were shooting off over the field, followed by a drone light display. From the comfort of our room, it felt like our own private show.

Finding the perfect place for a family staycation often includes compromise: pick a spot that’s overly child-focused, and enjoyment can be one-sided, while one catering to adults is a path to bored and restless kids. At The Rally, there’s no need to make a bargain between the two staycation styles.

Baseball obviously dominates at the Coors Field-adjacent location in McGregor Square. You do not have to be a fan of the sport to enjoy the nods to baseball culture, which include curated art and touches of whimsy like the enclosed ball track near check-in with pulleys and gears stretching beyond the first floor. The amenities help set the hotel apart: parents can enjoy a pour of beer or wine from a tap behind the check-in desk, while the kids can indulge in ice cream or a float in the lobby during social hour. The hotel also features a fitness center with weights and a yoga room, classic games, and a s’mores kit available at the front desk.

Entertainment is never far away. Margot cooled off in the splash pad in front of Union Station before we walked to the Museum of Contemporary Art for its exhibits and kids’ area. Later, we helped Margot swim laps in the heated rooftop plunge pool with High Noons in hand. After dinner at Carmine’s and ice cream at the Dairy Block, we headed to McGregor Square. Our plan for a brisk post-dinner walk turned into hours of relaxation in the central courtyard as Margot ran around long past sunset with another kid her age.

None of these experiences would be complete without a well-furnished room to return to. The cozy reading nook with a stuffed leather couch was the perfect spot to read a book with Margot in my lap. We scheduled ahead for the Rally to the Moon package, which includes a rocket ship-shaped mini tent and star projector. Margot couldn’t wait for the tent to finish being set up before squeezing past Colton, the staff member putting the package together for us, and sitting on the pillows as he added the finishing touches. Margot kept the space theme going with a remote-controlled rocket ship from Peak-A-Boo Toys around the corner.

As the night wound down and the Coors Field show outside our window ended, I turned on the star projector, and the three of us flopped onto pillows around the rocket ship tent. It was a private light show of another kind, and it wasn’t long before Margot drifted off to sleep, completely spent from a full day and night of family play we all enjoyed.
