Step into Adorn Objects, the new downtown design destination, and you’re greeted by soft, ambient light spilling over a mid-century modern couch and a wall draped in textured rugs. Bold green, orange, and yellow walls provide striking backdrops for each display, with shelves and tables beautifully arranged with handmade vases, pottery, books, and puzzles. The layout, with ample negative space, allows each piece to breathe, creating a gallery-like atmosphere that balances minimalism with eclectic warmth.

A new brand from Workplace Resource, a local, woman-owned commercial furniture dealership representing MillerKnoll, Adorn seeks to elevate both corporate and personal spaces through distinctive decor, personalized styling services, and local art. “We partner with the architectural and design community to provide the finishing touches that extend a client’s brand through curated objects,” explains Tina Pilger, creative experience director at Adorn. “Our additions bring character and warmth to a space, and last July we opened the store to offer a retail experience as well.”

The store’s shelves feature a delightful mix of items: iconic mid-century modern pieces like the Eames House Whale, Arne Jacobsen clocks, and Alexander Girard’s Wooden Dolls, alongside contemporary art from local creators, including Kristina Davies’ abstract prints, Curt Hammerly’s textured sculptures, and Sean VanderVliet’s custom ceramics for Adorn. Books nestle between decor, offering design chronicles such as Great Women Painters and 1000 Design Classics alongside light-hearted reads like Smiley: 50 Years of Good News and This Book Is Literally Just Pictures of Tiny Animals That Will Make You Smile.
