14th Annual Great Education Colorado Luncheon Celebrating the Champions Who Get It Done for Colorado Students
Our Luncheon is the premier event of the season for the public education community and we love to give our attendees time to network. For that reason, we open the doors at 11am.
Lunch is served at 12PM. Program begins at 12:30 PM.
After completing a strategic planning process in 2023, Great Education CO has added a critical focus to its work: ensuring that all Colorado students can go to schools where they feel welcome, safe, seen, supported and challenged. We know that the work to create such positive environments is happening every day in communities across Colorado. This year, the Great Education Colorado Luncheon will be a celebration of the Champions Who Get It Done for Colorado Students
A unique opportunity of a $5000 or higher sponsorship is the ability of sponsors to highlight their partnership with an organization or individual who “Gets it Done” for Colorado students before an audience of 400 business, community, legislators, and school district leaders. Last year, our sponsors celebrated those creating welcoming public schools. For example, Chevron celebrated The Five Star Education Foundation which created and maintains emergency resource closets at local schools and a district administrative building, in partnership with the Office of Whole Child Initiatives, to provide immediate basic needs assistance to students and families. Too many students come to school hungry, exhausted, and without the hygiene and clothing resources their peers have at the start of each day. To be learning-ready students must be warm, safe, and fed. Schools are the hub of the community and are in the best position to respond immediately when a child and their family are in need. Resource closets are a tool that fosters trust and security and allows students to be part of a community of learners.
Through our Luncheon, sponsors elevate Colorado public school champions and support Great Ed’s work to make sure our schools have the resources and community engagement necessary to make our vision a reality for every Colorado student.
Our program is one of the few in the public education world to highlight the voices of students. A large portion of the program is spent on a student panel so that our audience of educators, legislators and school administrators hear from the experts, the students! Last year our student panel delved into what a welcoming looks and feels like. The prior years, the student panels discussed the importance of career technical education and wellness in public schools.
