Free-flowing Bloody Marys and decadent dishes that blur breakfast and lunch are an all-day, everyday affair at Bacon Social House, where it always feels like the weekend.
Bacon Social House’s three locations— Sunnyside, South Broadway, and Littleton—share an ebullient atmosphere that maximizes natural light and embraces a midcentury modern aesthetic with bright red bucket seats, saucer-shaped pendant lighting, and murals reminiscent of Roy Lichtenstein. The South Broadway location’s dining room centers around a long bar and boasts an open patio perfect for Colorado’s sunny days. While the menu remains largely consistent across locations, each spot offers a few exclusive dishes.
All sections of the menu are worth exploring—especially the cocktails. Mimosas are served with a variety of juices like pineapple or prickly pear, while the house Bloody Mary, infused with bacon-washed vodka, is garnished with everything from chicharrón to cornichons. Another standout is the bacon old-fashioned, made with bacon-infused bourbon, maple syrup, and bacon bitters—garnished with a slice of bacon, of course.
We kicked things off with the bacon flight: six flavored bacons served with shears to parse out samples. Next, we dove into the chicken and waffles—half a sweet, fluffy Belgian waffle topped with two slices of pecanwood-smoked bacon and a crisp fried chicken breast smothered in thick and creamy sausage gravy. The balance of sweet, salty, and savory was spot on.
It’s not brunch without eggs, so we opted for the classic eggs Benedict, made with Canadian bacon and English muffins from Wolferman’s, a Kansas City bakery known for making them extra thick since 1888. The poached eggs were cooked to gooey perfection, and the hollandaise was tangy and smooth. Don’t sleep on the sweet potato fries—crispy on the outside, chewy inside, and seasoned with a blend of sweet and savory spices.
The McDowell’s chicken sandwich—a crispy fried chicken filet topped with melted cheddar, arugula, tomato, onion, and pickles—comes dripping with the house special sauce on a soft brioche bun. And the side of house-made tots is a delightful hybrid between a hushpuppy and a crispy potato bite. It’s a sandwich that’s as satisfying as it is messy—in the best possible way.
Some say bacon makes everything better, and after dining at Bacon Social House, I might just agree. Whether you’re there for a leisurely brunch, a celebratory mimosa flight, or just an excuse to indulge in all things bacon, one thing’s for certain—you’ll be back.
