3 Great Ways to Treasure Hunt

As you explore the winding roads of Colorado, you’ll stumble upon hidden gems offering unique, handcrafted gifts.

1Ohana

When Emily and Luke Dudley moved from Hawaii to Steamboat Springs, they dreamed of recreating an extended-family-like community, referred to in Hawaiian as ohana, so they opened a storefront that celebrates collaboration. Emily designs all the graphics that are screen printed (often live at the Steamboat location, but unfortunately not at the Breckenridge shop) on incredibly soft apparel, durable hats, and linen tea towels. The shop also features beetle-kill wood furniture, coffee table books, and craft jewelry, all made by local artists.

Owner Eric Reed channeled his experience working at Topo Designs into creating a men’s clothing store nestled on Louisville’s charming Main Street that redefines everyday wear. Instead of the typical business casual, Reed curates a selection of garments that resonate with Coloradans’ active lifestyles. From fashionable flannels to Red Wing Heritage boots and seasonally inspired outerwear, his collection captures the essence of rugged yet refined fashion, so you can look great whether you’re heading to the office or hitting the trails.

We love discovering gift shops in unexpected places, like the eclectic store at Paonia’s charming Qatari Wines. Beyond the locally produced wines that make for great gifts, this shop offers a curated selection of artisan-made goods inspired by global travels—think woven African baskets, repurposed Indian sari quilts, decorative driftwood trees, and handmade bohemian jewelry. You’ll also find prints by local artists, including wine label art crafted by owner Julie Bennett herself. It’s a delightful blend of local and global treasures in a cozy setting.
