Denver Fashion Week 2021
Since 2018, Denver Fashion Week has been Colorado’s largest fashion event. During the week-long show, emerging and established designers and boutiques from both Denver and around the country will showcase their collections’ key seasonal styles, enhanced by the work of talented hairstylists, makeup artists and models.
November 16 Workshop: Runway Model Workshop
Led by agency directors Nikki Strickler and Kiana Johnson of Southwest Model and Talent Agency, this workshop is aimed at both new and established models looking for the opportunity to home in on their craft. Both Nikki and Kiana bring vast experience to Denver Fashion Week. Both have worked as models internationally and are able to share crucial insight into the ins and outs of the industry. In this two-hour workshop, models will receive guidance on how to walk, pose and prepare for castings. The workshop will wrap up with a Q&A period.
November 17 Workshop: Intellectual Property in the Fashion Industry
The development of an intellectual property (IP) portfolio and strategy is an asset to those in the fashion industry. Whether it’s trademarking a label or seeking design patents for unique ornamental features of an upcoming line, understanding and establishing IP can help create and distinguish a brand from competitors, provide an opportunity for growth, provide protection from counterfeiters and add value to a brand and company. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Rocky Mountain Regional Director, Molly Kocialski, and Taryn Elliott, who manages IP portfolios at law firm Polsinelli, will help those in the fashion industry understand how to identify their intellectual property, and develop their strategy to establish, monitor and protect their IP rights.
