Denver Life is a magazine with a mission to raise awareness about meaningful causes within the community. We are dedicated to supporting Denver-based organizations that are striving to make a positive impact in our world. For this reason, Denver Life has selected three 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations to receive financial support from the magazine’s subscriptions. We are dedicating 50 percent of all subscription dues to the following three local organizations. You can help these organizations by subscribing to Denver Life today. Simply select your subscription plan below. Half of your subscription fees will go directly to the organization you choose during checkout.

On behalf of these incredible organizations and the team at Denver Life, thank you for your support.

MaxFund Animal Adoption Center

The Gathering PlaceEstablished in May 1988, this non-profit organization is a no-kill animal shelter that provides medical care for injured pets with no known owners and finds homes for these animals once they have recovered. As a TRUE no-kill shelter, there is no presorting of animals into “adoptable” or “non-adoptable” categories, discarding the so called “unadoptable.” MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. Animals receive the medical care they need through the MaxFund Wellness Center, and every animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home. The only reason for euthanasia is when it is in the humane interest of the animal. Thanks to MaxFund, these animals truly have a “second leash on life!”

This mission continues today, along with greatly expanded facilities and an array of self-sufficiency programs. Women are encouraged to develop individual strengths in an atmosphere of unconditional acceptance and support, with services intended to promote self-advocacy. As Denver’s only daytime shelter for women and children, The Gathering Place offers women and families essential tools for rebuilding their lives. The Gathering Place believes no woman—no matter what her circumstances—should have to face hunger, fear or homelessness. The Gathering Place is A Refuge for Rebuilding Lives.
