Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  What exactly does this commonly used phrase really mean? In a society heavily consumed with outward appearances, it means that different people will find different things beautiful.

Medi SpaWhile many folks believe that beauty is truly more about the depth of one’s soul and the kindness in their heart, some would add that beauty also resonates from individuals who possess confidence and self-assuredness. Most of us can agree that taking pride in maintaining a healthy outward appearance can definitely help boost one’s confidence. Today more than ever, people are paying greater attention to how well they treat their bodies and investing more energy in their physical appearances. This  would certainly explain the explosion of spas, beauty salons and a multitude of beauty products aimed at helping people all over the world to feel beautiful and confident.

SPA SPEAK

We’ve become a culture fascinated by spas and wellness, but navigating these ever-evolving concepts can be confusing. Perhaps the most familiar are Resort/Hotel Spas, offering travelers an indulgent experience while on vacation. Also well known are full-blown Destination Spas, which offer a full-immersion spa experience with all-inclusive programs such as fitness, nutritious spa cuisine, therapeutic body treatments and educational classes. Nowadays the term Day Spa is often combined with Salon Spa and offers a simple, flexible way to integrate the concept of spa into everyday life with treatments such as massages, facials and body treatments in addition to more mainstream beautifying salon services.Wellness Spas typically provide comprehensive wellness and preventative care that may adhere to traditional Western medical concepts, complementary/alternative philosophies or a combination of the two (known as integrative medicine). The spa treatments at such facilities are usually incorporated into wellness programs as an effective way to rejuvenate and alleviate stress. The list goes on and on to include even newer spa concepts like the Dental Spa, which incorporates calming spa elements into the dental experience; or the ultimate in convenience—the Mobile Spa, which brings professional practitioners to your home or office. And how about a relaxing massage to relieve travel-related tension and knotted muscles? Yep, even airports now offer Airport Spas providing passengers with pre- or post-flight pampering. These are usually abbreviated treatments to accommodate travelers’ schedules with options ranging from quick chair massages and express facials.

Regardless of which type of spa you prefer, the fact remains that people of newer generations tend to stay active longer and are living longer lives. If we feel younger, it’s only natural for us to want to look as young as we feel. Today, men and women don’t have to simply accept the fact that celebrating another birthday means welcoming obvious signs of aging. Maybe you’re fed up with the crow’s feet around your eyes and you wish those pesky sun spots would simply vanish. Or perhaps there are other concerns such as scarring, stretch marks, spider veins and cellulite that you would like to address. If you’re ready to make some changes but not quite ready for a trip to a plastic surgeon, consider a visit to a revolutionary hybrid treatment facility known as a Medical Spa.
